Sentar is seeking a Public Affairs Specialist - III in Fort Meade, MD!

Role Description:

The key to an organization’s growth is strong stakeholder communication that represents and supports its mission, values, and objectives. As a Communications Professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the planning and implementation of a comprehensive public affairs program for the client.

As a Communications Specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to inform interested public, to include other agencies, organizations, and Command personnel. As the organizational advisor of all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll oversee and author news releases and programs for press, and responses to information requests on assigned programs from the news media, specialized groups, or the public. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with a wide range of verbal, written, social, and visual communications concepts, principles, policy, practices, methods, applications, techniques, standards, and trends. Work with us as we design, develop, and lead efforts for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive public affairs program.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a DoD Public Affairs Specialist
  • Knowledge of oral, written, social, and visual communications concepts, principles, policies, practices, methods, applications, techniques, standards, and trends
  • Ability to photograph, write, edit, and prepare news releases, social media posts, and programs for press, radio, and television, including the organization and layout of publications used in the public affairs program, ensuring conformance to command and government guidelines
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • Possession of excellent organizational skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
